UK Industry Awards invites applicants

100 seats have already been booked for the 2017 UK Industry Awards dinner. © Composite UK Composite UK is encouraging companies in the UK composites supply chain to enter themselves into 2017 UK Industry Awards. The trade association is looking for new composites innovations (in design, materials and manufacture), exceptional systems, companies and personnel to submit an application for the awards.

The deadline for entries is 31 July 2017, with a shortlist announced in September and the winners revealed at the Industry Awards Dinner on 1 November, at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham.

Applications are sought in the following categories:

  • Innovation in materials
  • Innovation in manufacturing
  • Innovation in composites design
  • Health and safety award
  • Environmental initiative/Sustainability award
  • Employer of the year
  • Employee of the year
  • Trainee/Apprentice of the year

“We’ve seen the participation in the industry awards grow over the last few years. This is not only due to the immense support the event has received from organisations such as the coinciding Advanced Engineering Show and Composites in Manufacturing Magazine, but also because the UK composites supply chain is among the best in the world and has a lot to shout about,” commented Claire Whysall, Communications Manager for Composites UK.

Application forms are available to download from the Composites UK website. Companies/individuals can nominate themselves or someone else. Previous winners include Airbus, Broadwater Mouldings, Dura Composites, ELG Carbon Fibre, Far-UK, GKN, JETCAM, Metrology Software Products, MPM, Morgan Composites and Defence, Plataine, Safran Nacelles, Scott Bader, Sicut Enterprises, Revaluetech, Techlan, Teledyne CML Composites, Trelleborg AEM and Zircotec.
