Solvay launches its next-generation high-performance release film for wind energy applications.

Solvay, an advanced materials and specialty chemicals company, has announced the launch of VAC-PERF A2400, its next-generation high-performance release film for wind energy applications.

VAC-PERF A2400’s compatibility with a wide range of resin systems from polyesters to next-gen epoxies, combined with high release properties makes it a true alternative to legacy release films which have now reached their performance limits, according to the manufacturer.

VAC-PERF A2400 is designed to offer benefits to users including maximised release properties, reducing tool cleaning operations; simplified peeling off process, saving time and cost; clean laminate, for good surface finish without costly rework; simplified inventory (one peel ply for a range of resins and applications); and usage flexibility. It can be used for resin infusion and prepreg cures.

It is available in width of up to two metres, which lowers kitting costs with a 20% reduced assembly time capability. It is available with various perforation types including P3, P16, P31.

VAC-PERF A2400 will now be used as part of Solvay’s VAC-PLY Infuply (combination product with infusion mesh/breather and release film), improving efficiencies further by enabling part manufacturers to focus on value added operations and industrialise their production.
