Sigmatex showcase its sigmaDesign visual carbon at next week’s Advanced Engineering Show.

With eight standard designs, sigmaDesign is a service providing custom weave patterns for cosmetic and performance-based applications. The innovative carbon fabric, already adopted by high-end automotive, sports and luxury consumer goods markets, offers brands an opportunity to develop exclusive products, providing a unique look that contrasts with already established composite woven products.

“When it comes to visual carbon composites, many customers want more than the standard weave designs,” said Paul McMullan, Sigmatex Global Commercial Manager. “We are able to work with those customers to express their creativity and unleash their imagination, incorporating carbon fabrics that combine form and function and fashioning products that have an identity synonymous to their brand. We want to provide customers with the opportunity to work with this design freedom.”

Sigmatex supplies woven carbon fibre textiles including 3D, spread tow, recycled, unidirectional, multiaxial and standard 2D woven solutions across a broad spread of industries, ranging from the world’s high-volume automotive manufacturers to performance leisure brands and most of the world’s major aerospace companies.

The company helps its customers to achieve improved product performance through realising the many benefits offered through the adoption of carbon fibre technology including weight reduction, corrosion resistance, higher strength and stiffness and improved visual appeal.

Alongside sigmaDesign, Sigmatex will present a wide range of its carbon conversion technologies within the Composites Engineering sector of the Advanced Engineering Show taking place at the NEC in Birmingham, UK, from 30-31 October.
