Roth introduces high-speed winding process

Roth Composite Machinery, an expert in the field of special machinery construction, has developed a procedure accelerating filament winding processes by five to ten times, called Rothawin technology.

After the fully-automated filament winding technology having been developed by the traditional company tracing back to the former company Bolenz & Schäfer, the machine builder from Hesse says it is setting new standards by the high-speed winding process again.

“Our team of design engineers developed a revolutionary procedure by having realised the new Rothawin technology replacing traditional winding processes and making the production processes much more effective. By this method, we maintain our own standards as technology leader,” explained Bernd Fischer, Sales Director of Roth Composite Machinery.

The manufacturer is going to present Rothawin at the JEC World, the international trade fair for the composites industry, in Paris from 6-8 March. Roth Composite Machinery has been developing, planning and manufacturing filament winding machines for more than 50 years and has decade-long experience in the production of fully-automated plants in this sector.

The handling of all kinds of fibres – from simple glass fibres to sensitive, highly rigid fibres – also belongs to the know-how of the company. Filament winding plants having component weights of up to 120 tonnes and three shuttle carriages are tested in serial operation. For the manufacture of hydrogen tanks, Roth Composite Machinery builds production lines operating at the highest precision level and with maximum efficiency.
