This new generation fast press curable resin, especially formulated for cosmetic grade visual carbon look, opened the new possibility of use of prepregs in automotive mass production, according to the manufacturer.

Due to long duration of composite manufacturing techniques, composite materials were not able to reach the takt time of automotive industry. This is one of the main reasons that limited previous generation prepregs to be used in automotive mass production and restricted the composite use to high-end segments. With this new formulation, Kordsa says it achieved an enhanced visual quality optimised for automotive mass production.

Kordsa is a leading specialist in the tire, construction reinforcement and composites technologies market. It carries out production through a vast area from USA to Asia Pacific and supplies its reinforcement technologies internationally. With its business processes all based on R&D and innovation, Kordsa has 740 patent applications worldwide.
