New appointment at Sigmatex

Carbon fibre composites manufacturer Sigmatex has appointed Christine Barr to a new role in its commercial team. Mike Hitchen, Commercial Manager announced the appointment as Sigmatex continues its efforts to provide better service whilst realising its full growth potential in the exciting markets it serves.

Christine was formerly employed at Sigmatex in a customer services role and has recently rejoined the company following maternity leave as Commercial Team leader. The new role is focused on helping current and new customers understand the capabilities and processes that exist within Sigmatex and how these can be maximised to help customers gain a market leading advantage.

Christine commented on her appointment: “I am delighted to have re-joined such a strong team at a market leading company. My knowledge of the company, the products and the solutions that are available and in development should allow me to help our customers continue to grow in such a dynamic market.”

The appointment follows the recent addition of Simon Green to the Sigmatex commercial team and represents one of a number of exciting appointments that Sigmatex hopes to announce in 2013 to support the unprecedented growth that is currently being experienced.

Sigmatex is one of the world’s leading converters of Carbon Fibre. Having expertise in this field since 1972, they have grown rapidly to meet ever increasing demands for their products and services.

Sigmatex develops and manufactures carbon fibre textiles for composite material applications. From global locations, Sigmatex supplies 2D woven, unidirectional, multiaxial (non-crimp) and 3D textiles across a broad range of industries.  Sigmatex's proven capability converts millions of pounds of carbon fibre each year for major projects that require high levels of quality and reliability.

“Sigmatex works with customers to create carbon fibre textiles which meet various requirements including fibre orientation, crimp, drapeability, thickness and resin permeability. These textile solutions often require an innovative approach to textile design and process which is the core strength of Sigmatex,” the company concludes.
