Lord, a leading specialist in the development of structural adhesives, presented a lecture on fast curing polyurethane (PU) adhesives at the first Regional Meeting of 2019 promoted by the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO). The event took place at the headquarters of the Light Structures Nucleus (LEL), a laboratory that belongs to the Institute of Technological Research (IPT) and located in São José dos Campos (SP).

The paper entitled Enhancing productivity with fast curing PU adhesives, by Gabriel Matos, Lord’s Technical Sales Assistant, detailed the characteristics of Lord Fusor 2001/2003 NG adhesive. Based on polyurethane, it is suitable for bonding parts of composites in processes characterized by high production rates, common in the automotive industry.

Compared to the conventional PU adhesives, Lord Fusor 2001/2003 NG maintains the open time, but reduces the handling time. “Because of the much faster curing curve, LORD Fusor 2001/2003 NG provides an increase in productivity,” said Mr Matos. This characteristic, he noted, meets one of the main demands of the automakers, target audience of LORD Fusor 2001/2003 NG. “It is the ideal product for the collage of bumper, ceilings and panels, among other composite parts present in buses, trucks and agricultural vehicles.”

Lord is a diversified technology and manufacturing company developing adhesives, coatings, motion management devices, and sensing technologies to reduce risk and improve product performance.
