JEC Group and AZL celebrate 3 years of cooperation

Dr-Ing Michael Emonts, Managing Director of AZL Aachen GmbH. © JEC Group/AZL Aachen GmbHAfter two years of successful cooperation on JEC World, Frédérique Mutel, JEC Group President and CEO, and Dr-Ing Michael Emonts, Managing Director of AZL Aachen GmbH, have announced the renewal of their cooperation agreement, which has started in 2015.

For JEC World 2017, AZL and JEC Group have prepared a shared technological programme over the three days of the event, including a special exhibition area and a conference session on Production Technology for Multi-Material Lightweight Components.

The purpose of this programme is to jointly promote latest developments and insights regarding integrative lightweight production technology to illustrate their benefits to the composites professionals for the development of knowledge and the enhancement of their networking.

Close collaboration

“We are pleased to have JEC as a steady partner on our side for three years already,” said Dr Michael Emonts, Managing Director of AZL Aachen GmbH about the partnership with JEC.

“Open Innovation, networking and Joint Business Development are the main pillars of our close collaboration with our network of partner institutes of RWTH Aachen University, as well as more than 80 international companies covering the entire value chain. Together with JEC, we bring the results of our collaboration to the broad industry. We are looking forward a promising exhibition and conference at JEC World 2017.”

Composites in action

At the dedicated area called Composites in Action - JEC Group in partnership with AZL, AZL and its nine Partner Institutes of RWTH Aachen University will present their research and development.

Frédérique Mutel, JEC Group President and CEO. © JEC GroupThe innovations covering the whole composite value chain include research projects and result of AZL, Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT and Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and the Skilled Crafts, as well as RWTH Aachen University institutes, including the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL), the Welding and Joining Institute (ISF), the Institut für Textiltechnik (ITA), the Institute for Automotive Engineering (IKA), the Institute of Structural Mechanics and Lightweight Design (SLA). Furthermore, AZL industrial partners Conbility GmbH and Maru Hachi Corporation will be represented at the special exhibition area.

Special conference session

The increasing demand for multi-material systems will be addressed within the special conference session on 15 March. Speakers from the AZL Partner Institutes, as well as the AZL Premium Partners DuPont and Schuler, will present various technologies, including material and large-scale system solutions, joining and quality assurance techniques. Furthermore, collaborative approaches to realise large-scale production will be presented.

In guided tours, AZL will visit booths of their industrial Partner Companies A.Schulman, Aliancys AG, Covestro, ENGEL AUSTRIA GmbH, Polynt Group as well as MaruHachi Corporation.
