For this 2019 edition, which will open its doors to an international audience of industry professionals in Paris tomorrow, JEC World organises a full programme of conferences, round tables, dedicated showcases and other special features for automotive industry players to present trends and innovations, where composites are at the heart of the new mobility challenges.

The mobility of the future will be impacted by megatrends like autonomous systems, electrification and other alternative drivetrains, digitalisation and big data leading to a general diversification of the market and a shift to integrated solutions. New materials and material solutions will have a significant role to adapt to and support these new trends with new technology solutions for future mobility concepts.

“This is the reason why JEC World has developed a full programme to address automotive industry challenges and welcome most of the OEM world and key Tier1 companies as exhibitor such as Faurecia, Ford, Magna, Magneti Marelli, Valeo, and more,” organisers explain.

This full programme will include technical conferences, round tables, innovative area and pre-arranged business meetings. On 12 March, one session of technical conferences will focus on Solutions for hybrid, fuel cell and electric vehicles with speakers from AZL, Bcomp, Cetim, CTC, Siemens, Webasto, and others.

On 13 March, the Agora stage will host the Automotive Composites Circle organised with two leading locations of the global automotive industry building world-class vehicles, innovative technologies and intelligent mobility solutions: Pure Michigan, The Silicon Valley of Mobility Tech; and Baden-Württemberg, the largest automotive cluster in Europe. The programme welcomes an exclusive panel discussion involving main OEMs & Tier1s from around the world on the opportunities and challenges for composites in new mobility solutions.

During the three days, the Composites Exchange programme will include workshops about the trends for automotive interior applications with natural composites; the simulation materials data workflow for composites in automotive product development; lightweighting technologies for heavy trucks; and more.

In terms of innovation, automotive professionals will be able to discover within the Auto&Transport Planet, sponsored by Hexion, Von Roll’ and Pure Michigan, more than 50 innovative parts from engine parts, to cars including an Audi A8 chassis, a carbon roof, three-wheeled vehicle. As well as attend the pitches of the 10 Start up Booster finalists selected by Daimler, on 12 March at the Agora.

Among the Innovation Awards finalists, in the Automotive Application category, Hexcel was shortlisted for its patches; and in the Automotive Process category, Hyundai was selected for its CFRP auto body panels. In the Sustainability category, Porsche became a finalist for its series production of bio-based composites for doors and rear wings. Winners will be named on 13 March at the Agora stage.

Finally, automotive professionals can discover within the 1,300 exhibitors solutions, processes, as well as join the Composites in Action for Automotive, presenting the most recent scientific and technologic developments in this sector.
