Growth expected next week in Paris for JEC World 2017

The leading annual composites show in the world, JEC World, will once again open its doors from 14-16 March at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center for three days of networking and knowledge sharing among composites professionals, welcoming attendees from more than 100 countries.

“Innovation is at the centre of the show,” said Frédérique Mutel, JEC Group President & CEO. “Incremental or disruptive innovation in composites makes the success of JEC World. The new paradigms of our century are lightness, resistance, flexibility, customisation, cycles acceleration.”

“Composites meet this quest. During the last twelve months, we have worked hard to analyse end-users’ requirements. We have shaped the show to facilitate the interaction between the composites industry and the final market. New populations such as architects, creators, developers, designers and style engineers, should join. Consequently, we expect a significant growth for JEC World 2017.”

Four planets to showcase composites innovation

Following the success of the Planets that appeared last year as part of the show, JEC World is bringing them back in even bigger areas with brand new parts and new end-users focuses.

This month, attendees will find again the AERO Planet (sponsored by Huntsman) and the AUTO Planet (sponsored by Hexion, KDX, and UBC - Crosslink), and discover two new Planets i.e. the BUILDING Planet and the BETTER LIVING Planet that will include composite parts aimed at improving people’s everyday life.

Automotive composites circle

The exclusive gathering of top level producers, manufacturers and users of composites in the automotive industry will take place on the second day of the show. The by-invitation-only presentations and networking session will highlight the topic The collaborative process in the automotive Industry, learning experience from the State of Michigan.

Renowned speakers from The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Faurecia, Ford Research & Innovation Center, IACMI, Leichtbau, Continental Structural Plastics and Bcomp will take the stage to exchange a few ideas. Also, Leilani Münter, Electric GT Pilot, will give a speech at this occasion.

Six conferences

During the three days of the event, six conferences involving 53 speakers from around the world will provide the most updated information about the latest developments in the composites industry. Three of them will be dedicated to end-using markets:

  • Aeronautics: Multiscale Modelling for Behavioural Predictions
  • Current Trends in the Automotive Industry
  • Composites as a Worthy Alternative to Traditional Materials in the Construction Industry

“We are very confident with JEC World 2017 session as the show floor has been fully booked for weeks and registration figures are increasing compared to 2016 which was already an exceptional session,” said Anne Manuèle Hebert, JEC World Show Director.

“There are so many events not be missed during JEC World such as the new STARTUP BOOSTER programme on day one, the JEC Innovation Awards Ceremony on day two with keynote speaker Thomas Coville, new solo round-the-world record on maxi trimaran and many other special events. Three days will be hardly enough to cover JEC World 2017 and its very complete offer.”
