Pentaxia unveils investment plans

Managing director Stephen Ollier. © Pentaxia Advanced composites manufacturer Pentaxia will be unveiling plans for a £1 million investment in a new six-acre site at this year’s Advanced Engineering 2017, which takes place from 1-2 November at the NEC Birmingham.

Exhibiting alongside 600 suppliers of engineering products and solutions, the company is inviting business leaders to find out more about the installation of cutting edge equipment and upgraded facilities that will double its existing production capability.

Visitors will also get the opportunity to meet Pentaxia’s team of engineers and take advantage of one to one meetings with managing director Stephen Ollier inside a 4m high, custom made stand, where they can learn more about the future of composites and its capabilities across multiple industries.

Expansion period

“As a company, we’re entering an exciting period of expansion and we are looking forward to sharing our growth news with our colleagues and contacts in the sector,” said Stephen Ollier. “Advanced Engineering 2017 is a fantastic platform to showcase our recent work as well as demonstrate our role in helping to shape the British supply chain, and invest in growth to meet the anticipated demand in the composites market."

“Designed especially for the event, our one of a kind stand doubles as a unique meeting space and is sure to tick all the boxes on what is set to be an action-packed couple of days.”

Six-month programme

In the new year Pentaxia will move from its current site in Longbridge Lane to a 70,000ft2 manufacturing space in Derby. A six-month programme to refurbish and upgrade the site will start immediately and position the company to meet the rapid increase in demand for lightweight, high performance components from its blue-chip customers in the aerospace, motorsport and luxury automotive markets.

Derby-based Pentaxia was formed in 2008 and specialises in the manufacture of advanced composites for the aviation, motorsport, luxury automotive and general engineering markets. It is vertically integrated, carrying out nearly all operations from design through to the production of painted final products, in house.

Pentaxia invests in staff training to meet growth needs and employs twelve graduates and eight apprentices, winning the SEMTA National Skills Champion Award in 2014 for its work with the long-term unemployed.
