CRP Group’s know-how tested by Colin Edwards

The partnership between CRP Group’s specialised companies – CRP Technology, CRP Meccanica, and its US-based partner CRP USA – and Energica Motor Company goes full steam ahead. The third demo lap of Ego Corsa, the Energica Motor Company’s high-performing electric motorcycle, was carried out at MotoGP World Championship Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, Austin, TX, yesterday.

“It is a new opportunity to illustrate how CRP Group and CRP USA technology is supporting the development of Ego Corsa,” CRP Group explained. Ego Corsa will be used by racing teams at the FIM Enel MotoE electric motorcycle World Cup.

The two-time World Superbike champion Colin Edwards became the third rider to get on track the Ego Corsa. Colin Edwards has been dubbed by many as the Texas Tornado and was one of the most dominant riders to ever race in the US.

The CRP Group is a centre of excellence for high-tech. For over 45 years it has been working for the F1 world with CRP Meccanica, CRP Group’s specialised division in precision CNC machining, and for over 20 years it has been working in professional 3D printing field with its Windform family of reinforced materials through CRP Technology.

The Energica project was born between 2008 and 2009 when the company created an all-electric racing bike called eCRP. CRP Group’s know-how in F1 world and aerospace industries supported Energica into further developing electric technology and creating a line of premium street-legal electric motorcycles. The team raced for two years and then started working on a new project: Energica, the first high-performance electric motorcycle. Today, Energica Motorcycles’ range includes three models, among them: the sport bike Ego.

The Hermann Tilke-designed 5.5 km Circuit of The Americas is a crucial spot for motorcycling enthusiasts with its cutting-edge facilities and a capacity for 120,000 fans.
