Composites in construction event deemed successful

The event was entirely dedicated to the current and future developments of composites materials in building and construction. © JEC GroupThe Future of Composites in Construction was the biggest North American event dedicated to composites in construction and concluded with success in Chicago, IL, last month, organisers report. The co-located event with Techtextil North America attracted 3,096 visitors from around the world and 550 attendees to the Symposium.

The event was entirely dedicated to the current and future developments of composites materials in building and construction, showcasing innovations that have been changing the way end-users, such as architects or designers, construct buildings and infrastructures.

“The trade show was well run and seemed to be thoughtfully planned, with time for exhibits, demonstrations, presentations and meetings. The trade show itself was very successful for our company,” said Ron Blackburn, Marketing Coordinator, Magnum Venus Products. “We interacted and networked with many different customers and potential customers, resulting in an encouraging number of leads and connections. For this being the first trade show of its kind, JEC Construction went very smoothly, and even exceeded expectations in many ways.”

Return to Chicago

“We are very happy that our end-users' approach to the industry elicits positive feedbacks. For this particular event, we managed to attract architects and designers who could learn and experience how composite materials could change their way of working tomorrow, offering them endless possibilities. We will continue to target the users of composites in our next events,” commented Frédérique Mutel, JEC Group President and CEO.

“Indeed, JEC Group will return to Chicago to focus on the Transportation Industry with The Future of Composites in Transportation in June 2018 and we have already planned to stay in Chicago in June 2019 for another Future of Composites in Construction,” said Nicolas Baudry, North America Events Director for JEC Group.

Positive feedback

“As the first event of its kind in North America the conference exceeded our expectation by the quality of the symposium, as well as the level of interest and interactions its generated. This was a very good first step toward the ultimate goal of democratising composite materials in the construction industry,” commented Dr Mohamed Bouguettaya, Strategic Marketing, BASF.

“JEC Group is on the right track with these more focused events. The target audience was in attendance so the quality of contacts was very good. The show was a success for Chomarat as we met important new contacts in the construction segment. The symposium sessions were rich with new technologies as well as proven products,” said John Leatham, Director Sales and Marketing, Chomarat North America.
