CAMX – The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo is now accepting entries for the fourth annual CAMX Award, sponsored by Ashland. The deadline for submission is 15 May.
The CAMX Award recognises two cutting-edge innovations that will significantly impact composites and advanced materials. The award is divided into two categories – Combined Strength and Unsurpassed Innovation.
"These game-changing composite applications truly embody the spirit of CAMX and the industry itself," said Tom Dobbins, ACMA President. "Every year, I'm inspired by our industry's ability to create amazing products that challenge the status quo in a wide range of markets."
As two distinct honours, the Combined Strength Award acknowledges a product that incorporates composites materials that solves a problem through teamwork and collaboration, and the Unsurpassed Innovation Award celebrates a product with a design that incorporates low-cost materials for high-volume applications that can change the outlook of a particular market. Past winners have changed the way 3D printing, automotive, aerospace and architecture.
"The CAMX Award is a can't-miss opportunity for companies to stand out as leaders and to raise the bar for innovation in composites and advanced materials," said Gregg Balko, SAMPE CEO. "Our award winners have a permanent place in composites history."
The winning entries will be presented during the General Session at CAMX on 12 September at the Orange County Convention Center.
Created by the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) to connect and advance all aspects of the world's composites and advanced materials communities, CAMX is an all-encompassing event.
Covering a wide range of applications, from transportation, aerospace, marine, to wind energy, software, construction and infrastructure, medical, academics, sports and leisure, CAMX is a leading event for products, solutions, networking, business, and advanced industry thinking. CAMX 2014 featured over 500 exhibitors, 8500 participants, and 250 conference education sessions and technical paper presentations.
